The End of Summer 2011

August was a month of fun!

Hayden and I spent our last day together before I went back to work.
(almost 6 weeks old)

The boys bonded some more...if that is even possible

Hayden loves his cloth diapers, and so do I!
(kawaii diaper cover with birdseye prefold, and Julia's insert!)

Hayden grew out of his going home sweater.

And he fit into my FAVORITE hand-me down from when Sam was a baby

The boys practiced  some schoolwork, Hayden practiced his hand eye coordination.

Then came September...SECOND GRADE!!!!!

Sam and Hayden snuggling the first day of school

Yes I let Sam have a Frappe for breakfast the first day of school...Sue me! LOL!

Hayden turned 2 months old on the 5th! My how he has grown!
He was 13 lbs 4 oz. at his 8 week checkup!

Amongst the schoolwork, there is always time for F-U-N!

Eben and Poppy on Poppy's bike!

Sam and Poppy on Poppy's bike!  The glasses kill me!

Hayden puts up with my abundance of kisses

And has fun with bubbles of various kinds

(he was sound asleep here in the tub)

He enjoyed a new view from my scarf sling

Sam found a new way to decompress after school...we gave him our little netbook!

Hayden finally fits into the hat and slippers I made for him when he was inside me!

(I think the yarn resembles cookie monster texture!)

Thanks for reading~hope your summer was as fantastic as ours!

From Scratch

Today, I was inspired again by my twinnie Julia, and her From Scratch segment of her blog!
So, that being said, I decided to make some fried chicken...From Scratch!

Ingredients:

 4 halved chicken breasts
1 tbsp of each of the following: garlic, paprika, rosemary
bread crumbs
 2 eggs
olive oil
salt and pepper

Mix the spices and the bread crumbs in a shallow container, then add a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly. Crack and whisk the eggs together in another shallow container.

Coat a skillet with a thin layer of olive oil, and heat at medium heat while you do the following:

Dredge (big word for me I know) each chicken breast in the egg mixture, and then coat in the bread crumb mix.

Place in the skillet, and fry for 5 minutes each side (may be longer if the breasts are thicker).

Enlist the help of your finest sous chef of course!

Place on a plate, and serve with your favorite sides! Enjoy!!!

Bib and Pants

Julia's Bib Pattern

The Boys raced their Poppy

And had fun at the pool!

They even helped Poppy put together Sam's new bed set...this bunk bed set was the same one my dear dad made for Julia and I when we were little.  Full circle!

Hayden has been sleeping A LOT!

in various places...LOL

So did Sam...HEHEHEHE

Sam falls in love with his brother more every day~and it makes my heart sing!

If August is a quarter as nice as July has been we are in for a heavenly summer ending!

Hayden 2 1/2 Weeks Old

He is the easiest going love in the whole universe.  Sam was a very easy baby for me, but a bit trying for others at times.  Hayden is very even keeled, and an equal opportunity loving baby.  We are very lucky!  He is growing so much, and nursing all the time.  Major growth spurt going on right now.  Time is flying by and because I know this is our last baby~I am relishing every smell, snuggle, and smirk.

Sam is truly an amazing big brother, and loves to kiss and hug his buddy!

Hope you are well too!

He is here, and he is spectacular!

Hayden (we changed his name) arrived on July 5th at 3:14 in the afternoon.  7 lbs 15 ounces, 21 inches long, and a full head of dark hair.   his big  He is the clone of his big brother Sam, minus the blond hair.   Here he is in the sweater I made the week I found out I was pregnant.

Blogger won't allow my picture bomb of a post, so here is the link to the Flickr album.  My twinnie truly outdid herself with her photos, to which I am eternally greatful.

The birth was everything and more, and I will post it down the road, for now I am relishing my new love, and admiring the bond my two sons have so soon.  I am a lucky lucky woman, and Jay and I hit the lotto TWICE!

Thanks for reading and looking~Tomorrow is my Sam's SEVENTH birthday!  How has seven years passed so fast.  BLINK!

A Maternity Photo Shoot By Adirondack Mama!

Julia, my UBER'talented twinnie thought she would broaden her photography portfolio, and use me as a subject for her first Maternity Shoot.  Here is the finished result.  Am I a lucky girl or what???

I am almost 36 weeks along, and she made me feel pretty again.
I truly can not thank her enough for that

She really has an amazing photography eye~I must say!
