Booties and a crawling babe

Julia and I literally have made 100's of booties from Julia's pattern, most of them for our shop.  But then we closed up shop, and I never thought about them again.

Then, today, I had a sudden urge to craft, to make something sewn, and to make it for Hayden.  He has what we refer to as "fat feet", and they tend to lose socks rather quickly.  So, I felt that it was high time that I make him some booties.  I have made him bibs, and pants, and burp cloths, but never the booties.  So I did...

By the way...I have NEVER seen these booties on a babes feet, that is right...NEVER!  They are way cuter on a baby than stuffed with tissue paper.

And he loves them!

He eats!

Hayden is a bit on the picky/slow side of the whole eating thing.  He shudders, and wipes his face, and turns his head when we come at his face with traditional baby food (apples, pears, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, baby oatmeal, baby rice/apples cereal). We joke that if he could disappear into the highchair he would.  Luckily, my sister has a chef side, and made him some unbelievable yummy, flavorful, mama wants to steel a bite baby food!  Here is a smattering of my lad and his food adventures!

We are slowly trucking along, and listening to what our boy likes/wants.
How can you not love that face!!!

To boil or not to boil bottles, etc if you are breastfeeding

So, I am exclusively nursing/pumping for Hayden. Honestly the last time I boiled his bottles, pumping equipment, nipples and pacifiers was when we had f-ing thrush this Summer.  I know that it is recommended, but I do not do it.  I boiled everything today because the pumping bottles had an orange hue to them from the dishwasher and a slew of tomato sauce in the same load.

That being said, what do you mama's do???

Boil, or not Boil?

I mean come on...imagine if we had to sterilize our boobs?
